Happy Birthday, Janet Jackson
I want the 90s back now, if just for that SNIKT! necklace.
X-MEN print for NYCC!
Super excited to draw this - the 90s X-Men cartoon was huge in introducing me to comics and made me a sucker for all X-Things. Hope you like!
Poster design for the YA novel September Girls, by Bennett Madison!
FREE THING ALERT: The brilliant ModHero— whose Dazzler and Nightcrawler prints hang proudly on my wall— was kind enough to design this gorgeous, *limited edition* poster to celebrate the upcoming release of September Girls. If you’re among the first twenty people to pre-order the book and e-mail your details to email@example.com I’ll send you your very own poster, signed by me. HOW COULD YOU PASS UP THIS AMAZING OFFER?
(Note: I think you need to be older than 13 for this to be legal, but you really shouldn’t be reading the book if you’re younger than that anyway.)
Places to pre-order:
"Whiskey For The Dead" illustration for the band Sanjuro Fields.

THE ELEVENTH DOCTOR
Run!! Don’t think about what’s going on! Don’t ask questions! Just keep running! The universe is a sphere, therefore all logic is circular and any questions you ask will just wind you up in the same place, running for your life from monsters, gasses, death rays, viruses, robots, and a sneaking sense that you’ve been here before but it’s all a bit too intense and emotions are just a little too high to be dwelling on that at this particular moment in time, so before we get mired all the broken hearts and fragile plot elements supporting centuries of reckless, wonderful galavanting through the universe in an impossible time machine…. RUN!
Wow. So quiet yet so emotive. Also: Great webcomic!
And now back to knocking out this incredibly long list of work I have to do before leaving town in a few weeks, and doing my best not to die from heat exhaustion or starvation in the meantime.
I’ve decided to re-think my website setup.
modhero.com is now a straightforward gallery of the series. I’ll add new modHero portraits as they are finished.
That frees up this modHero Tumblr to be more of a fun, free-form blog, as a Tumblr should be. I’ll still post my art here, but will loosen up and re-blog things from other artists and sources.
Hooray for more fun!
But, enough fun. On the topic of Serious Business, I’ve also redesigned my professional graphic art portfolio site. Please have a look!
That’s all. Thanks!
BATGIRL (AND FRIENDS)
When does cosplay become continuity? The best characters take on a life of their own. Between pages. Between scenes. A good myth like “Batgirl” is just a facade anyhow. A starting point. Barbara Gordon can slip on the mask just like Yvonne Craig. When you’re lost in a good book, isn’t it really your own voice you hear speaking the lines? Fans and characters are part of the same equation. Just because it wasn’t on-panel doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
